Lebanon Missouri- Wilson Cemetery

When you go there late at night you will hear voices and sometimes even see white forms floating above and around some of the graves. The cemetery is over 200 years old and most of the people who are buried there are named Wilson. I advice you not to go into the cemetery for very bad luck will follow you. The cemetery is located 25 miles east of Lebanon on old back roads.

Adrian, Missouri- Young's Mansion

Young's Mansion was  known by the locals as one of the most haunted mansions known. Several people have been in the old slave tunnels found under the house leading into the barn. There are chains still on the walls. There is a man's voice heard by many people, which has yelled at them to leave, and they did leave, as fast as possible. There are also footsteps up the stairs and the hallways, slamming doors, and rocking chairs. High-pitched screams can be heard all over the property. The place is now being torn down to keep children from getting hurt from trying to get into the house. But even when torn down, just driving by that place will give you chills.

Springfield Missouri- Central High School

Central High School is the oldest school in Springfield Missouri. Originally the school was named Springfield High School. Reportedly room 311 is haunted by
eerie sounds and has a door that locks by itself. The room has been renumbered due to rennovations at the school. The basement is also the source of a
haunting, possibly due to a number of tunnels that run beneath the school and are themselves, reportedly haunted. Also, the fourth floor attic is reported to be
haunted.

Springlawn Albino Farm- Springfield Missouri

This place is one of the few I never want to go to. When I was little my uncle would tell me stories about this place. Late at night when he was about 8 he would go around the area and see ghosts. His father (the man's name is Uncle Joe to everyone who knows him, I will talk more about him later.) would explain to him that they were albinos and there was a farm there where them and people of their kind could live. When he was near his death, he went there with his friend to see what happened to it, and this man is not superstitious, but he saw the ghost of the caretaker that is said to haunt the grounds. I am currently trying to get the pictures he took from his son, who does not want to show me. Again, all credit for the pictures go to undergroundozarks.com on their investigation.

Again, now a days people who practice the dark arts (one of my friends used to go there to drink and do other things) habit the area. So if you see a dark clothed figure, chances are it might be a GOTH or something messing around there. But if it does not respond and walks through the wall, you know you have seen the ghost of the caretaker.

The Acid Tunnel- Not Haunted Just Freaking Awesome (pictures only)

The acid tunnel is a storm water conduit in Springfield. The place is not haunted, and unfortunately I have not been there yet. These pictures come from undergroundozarks.com, and all credit goes to them.

Some of my friends say that this place is haunted, but myself I just believe that its the art on the walls and the sounds of the homeless most likely. I plan to go here one day, and see for myself.

America's Most Famous Hauntings- Amityville Haunting

Amityville, one of, if not the most haunted places in America. I know that this place is not in Missouri, but I believe that this house is the basis of what a haunting truly is.The story below is from www.yourghoststories.com and the picture is from Google Images.

Though the Amityville house is most famously linked to the Ronald DeFeao killings in November of 1974, it was originally used to house Native Americans that were insane, sick or withering. Those Indians were buried on the property, obviously from less than peaceful circumstances. Did these Indians, buried on unconsecrated ground, lend to the later strange tragedy that would make this house so famous?
Ịn the early morning hours of November 13, 1974, Ronald DeFeao fatally shot his father, two brothers and his sister. All were found in their beds, face down, and despite the neighbors’ houses being close together, no one heard screams or noises. Mr. DeFeao claimed that ghosts were present during the events and had goaded him into eliminating his siblings though his original intent was just to executing his father.
The home at 112 Ocean Avenue eventually went up for sale and was later purchased by George and Kathy Lutz for $80,000. Though they were told by the realtor about the tragedy, the Lutz's were so enamored with the home, pool, garage and 4,000 square feet of waterfront that they immediately made an offer.
The next 28 days are the events that led to the book and movie, Amityville Horror.
AmityvilleMoving day should have been a clue when the leashed family dog tried to flee the property, jumped the fence and hung himself. Though the dog survived the ordeal, this was an ominous sign of things to come. What followed could not have been fluffed up any more by Hollywood itself. The Lutz's claimed that keyholes oozed goo, the toilet water turned black, and nasty smells started to permeate the house. Septic problems? George started to get sick and lose weight but if it was a general septic or well problem, the whole family would have been affected, especially the children.
Later on noises entered the house. The front door slammed on its own and footsteps pattered about the house. George also stated that 'static' noises could be heard. When he investigated the downstairs area where they thought the source was, he found the furniture moved and the carpets rolled back.
At the suggestion of friends who said they too had experienced ghostly experiences, the Lord's Prayer was recited room to room. That's when the noise went from static to full blown words including one screamed phrase, "'Will You Please Stop!"
As if that wasn't enough to motivate this family to leave the home immediately, entities gathered strength and started making themselves physically present. Kathy claimed that she felt a presence embracing her from behind. The family claimed they could see eyes peering at them through the windows at night. When they would investigate all they would find were hoof tracks accompanied by the odd squeal. Other sightings included a little boy on the second story landing and a dark cloaked figure. Their daughter Missy then developed a ghostly friendship with someone by the name of Jodie. Missy claimed that Jodie was an angel and could change shapes. Ominously, she said that Jodie had told her, "You'll live here forever."
The departure from the home is a bit ambiguous but the way George tells it, the house almost felt like it was coming alive with flexing walls and groans. They decided to make a very quick departure to Kathy's mother’s house during a very stormy night.
After the Lutz's fled, they requested paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren, to visit the home. The Warren’s went to the house along with a Duke University professor and the president of the American Society for Psychic Research. Their reports included strong clairvisual and clairaudial messages from the ghosts dwelling in the home, air that seemed to "solidify" and Ed claimed that he saw, "shadows along with thousands of pinpoints of light" which was down in the cellar and those shadows tried to push him about, scaring him out of his mind.
There was not a person at the investigation that didn't declare the place felt of utter terror. Lorraine declared that the strong-hold from the ghosts would be too severe to ever dislodge. So wretched was the feeling that the Duke Professor rumored to have passed out from fear.
Whether or not facts of this case were stretched or a complete hoax all together, it still remains one of the most frightening and sensationalized ghost stories of our time.

Cape Girardeau- South East Missouri State University

Cheney Hall- The hall is said to be haunted. Around finals time, a girl living on the third floor couldn't handle the stress and committed suicide in her bath tub. It is said that no matter how hard they scrubbed, the blood would not come out of the tub. Instead of pulling the bathtub out and replacing it, they built a shelf over it. Now, strange noises are heard in the room, and the door has a habit of slamming itself when left open.

The Music Building- Lights and shadows have been seen, and doors have been heard slamming as well. Witnesses have seen figures walking down the hall that dissolve when they got close; and heard doors slamming hard as though they had been slung against the door frame. Investigation proved all doors were locked and because of how the building is built and situated, it is easy to tell if someone else is in the building.

The Rose Theater- The theater is haunted by the jilted wife of a French trader who murdered him on the grounds before the theater was built. "Mary" (as they fondly refer to her) is very temperamental and causes mischief whenever a play with a violent theme is produced. There has also been a old man seen sitting in the house when the theater is empty, as well as a unexplained, unremoveable blood stain on the concrete in the house.

Cape Girardeau- Pike Lodge

This is a strange one cause I have never heard of, and I would love to see in person. The Pi Kappa Alpha Lodge just south of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, has its own little ghost. For this old house, now a fraternity social place, there is a resident that does not want to go away. Myth is that in the early 1900s a  little girl was accidently killed in school. Not much has happened there while large groups have been present but when there are small groups, that is when most of the instances have been reported. Windows shaking, doors slamming, lights swaying, figure of a little girl jumping rope in a old building late at night by the neighboring residents and sinister laughing in the furnace room. Ask any Pike at Southeast Missouri State University and they will be glad to tell you about the lodge. An update to theshadowlands.net in February of 2005, the girls name is Jessica, and till recently, it was true that she only shows up to individuals or small groups, she made herself known at on of our [the lodge's] biggest and most recent lodge parties. In the middle of the party she made all the lights go out and the music turn off . All the equipment was running for the sound but nothing came out of the speakers. There were no technical problems, so they decided to just wait it out. Eventually they did come back on.

Boonville, Missouri- Kemper Military School and College (Closed down)

I have had a interest in this particular haunt for years now, and I am happy to be able to put some of the reported haunts on here.

Track- The ghost of a female cadet can be seen jogging around the track and disappears near where she was killed. The bridge is further back from that spot.

A barracks- You can sometimes see a civil war soldier in the door way. It was the old barracks also known as female barracks, where a ghost clad in black known as the shadow seen in hallway will open windows and slam doors. You can hear footsteps also.

C barracks- You can hear footsteps in this barracks. During refurbishing, the footsteps could be heard, and when investigated, nothing was found, even tho there was dust and dirt on the floor. If someone was walking in there, there would have been evidence of it, but there was no trace of anyone being there.

D barracks- You can sometimes see figures in the windows at night that was closed down. These are believe to be the ghosts of the cadets who died in the infirmary in the early days (late 1800s and early 1900s) because medicine was not advanced enough to treat them.

Old Bridge Leading to Golf Course- A ghost of a female student has been spotted here on many occasions.

Springfield Missouri- Landers Theater

This is copied from the Springfield Little Theater Website, for accuracy purposes

MANIFESTATIONS:
Performers on stage must have to focus on what they are doing, as they have plenty of entities watching them, which can be distracting!
1) In 1920, a major fire broke out in the theater, killing the janitor.
The apparition of the janitor is often seen by the actors on stage, way up in the balcony, watching them rehearse.
2) During the 1920′s, which was a time of racial segregation, a man was knifed in the 2nd balcony (“the colored section”), and died there.
This entity is described as being a green orb, or phosphorescent haze, about 5 feet tall, is seen in the 2nd balcony and on the landing between the first and second balconies. The area where it appears is about 20 degrees colder than the temperature elsewhere.
3) A tragic accident occurred when a BABY fell from the balcony to its death, much to the horror of its mother.
A) A baby’s cries can be heard, as well as its mother trying to comfort it.
B) Performers have seen an apparition of a baby falling from the balcony during rehearsals.
4) Part of the fourth floor in the past used to be apartments, which housed touring actors and actresses.
On the street in front of the theater people have observed a tall apparition of a long-haired, blonde man, dressed in Elizabethan clothes peering at them from behind a curtain on the fourth floor in a room which is now a costume room.
5) People in the theater building report that they sense a unseen presence following them, tapping them on the shoulder.
6) A middle-aged male apparition appeared as a solid form in the middle of the auditorium before the lighting and technical director as he returned from the basement, to make the security system work, as the theater was closed. Thinking that this apparition was a living man, the director asked the entity if he could help him. This apparition went behind a pillar and disappeared. The director described this entity as being nearly 6 ft tall, with long hair and a black and gray-peppered beard, has a big nose, full lips, bushy eyebrows.
Before this entity appeared before the lighting and technical director, a group of people, playing with a Ouija board in the balcony (which can be very dangerous) said that the entity’s name was “Ned”, and described him the same way as the lighting and technical director.
